What is Bottled-in-Bond?
In a time when much of the whiskey being sold was done so under false pretenses, the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 provided a trusted, standard of quality that was authenticated by the federal government. To be labeled as Bottled-in-Bond, the spirit must be produced by one distiller, at one distillery, during one distillation season, aged at least 4 years in a federally bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof.
